Take your pick. Will it be boating and fishing at Greenwich Lake Park? Exploring history at Red Bank Battlefield Park? Observing nature at Scotland Run Park? Or attending a summer concert or playing tennis at James G. Atkinson Memorial Park.

Within Gloucester County’s park system you’ll find a range of activities where you can be as busy or as laid back as you want. Check out all the things to do.

At James G. Atkinson Memorial Park you’ll find two playgrounds, a picnic pavilion, amphitheater for Park and Recreation's Summer Concert Series, eight tennis courts with lighting, two basketball courts, with lighting, three softball/soccer/football fields with lighting, one baseball/soccer/football field, over a mile of jogging/bicycling trails, exercise course, and the Millennium Plaza.

Greenwich Lake is stocked with trout and is open year-round for fishing. The 40-acre Greenwich Lake is also accessible for boating with a boat launch that is open on weekends from the start of trout season until Labor Day. Bring your binoculars to spot all the plant and animal life that live in the wetlands surrounding the lake. There is also a playground, conversation areas, picnic tables and grills. Greenwich Lake Park is open April to November 30th, sunrise to sunset.

Historic Red Bank Battlefield, situated on the Delaware River, combines park space, groves of trees, playgrounds and picnic pavilions with the Whitall House, a historic landmark that played a significant role during the Revolutionary War.

At 940 acres, Scotland Run Park is the largest of Gloucester County’s parks. You can go fishing or boating on Wilson Lake or hit the playground and picnic areas which are located across from the Nature Center, offering a variety of environmental education programs for all ages. Walking trails are located behind the nature center and also on the lake-side of the park. The park is open year-round from dusk to dawn.
