NJSFSC is group of outdoors enthusiasts, founded in 1935, that believes that hunting, fishing and trapping play a vital role in natural resource conservation.
The organization is a group of sportsmen that care enough about their sport to be active so that the goals
of the NJSFSC can be achieved. Members include:
- Individual Sportsmen
- Members of hunting and fishing clubs
- Members of Statewide Sportsmen Groups like:
- United Bowhunters of NJ
- NJ Trappers Association
- Jersey Coast Angler’s Association
The Gloucester Chapter represents 8 clubs and have representatives from the Furtakers and Ducks Unlimited. A representative of Fish & Game attends meetings to update members on programs, plans and legislation. The chapter supports hunter education and the Becoming An Outdoors Women Program.
Current concerns are the deer management program, hunter access to farm and other private land in order to help with the deer herd management providing more sportsmen opportunities and reduce the need for farmer "shoot to kill" permits as a significant part of herd reduction. The chapter is also concerned with protecting the rights of sportsmen and women to own and use firearms of their choice.
The chapter is represented at the South Jersey Region meetings and the statewide monthly meetings of the Federation.
Meets for the Gloucester Chapter are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. (except in July and August) at the Southern Region office of Fish, Game & Wildlife in Sicklerville.
