Kirby's Mill is a historic grist mill located in Medford, New Jersey. Originally known as Haines Mill, it was built in 1778 by Isaac Haines and partners along the Southwest Branch of Rancocas Creek. It was the last commercial operating mill in New Jersey.
Kirby’s Mill processed grain for the Continental Army and became a center of commerce and information in the surrounding communities from the eighteenth through the early twentieth centuries. The mill exhibits distinctive wooden pegs and wedges, and is a fine example of massive timber construction.
Come and see the working mill wheel, along with a collection of hands-on exhibits of interest to the entire family.
Kirby's Mill is currently owned by the Medford Historical Society. The mill has been entered in the National Register of Historic Places in the United States.
