Owned and operated by Ron Friedman and Nanette Ebersol, Paint Island Canoe and Kayak was started during the Spring of 1997 offering recreational canoes and kayaks, boat kits, gear and accessories, training and guided trips through local waterways. Our focus is upon the entry level paddler and bringing a respect to the local environment through educating about the river, its history, the flora and fauna which it maintains. During our second season we are expanding our line to include more technical boats, the Wenonah Canoe line and Current Designs Kayaks.

With strong roots and a combined history of 15 years experience in the local nonprofit arena, both myself and Nanette are committed to working with Isles, Inc. a Trenton based nonprofit working in community gardens; (which I am still the director of), affordable housing; vocational training; environmental education; and community outreach, and United Way which assists nonprofits throughout Mercer County with funding and emergency support. We will work with any local nonprofit group in the area to bring them an affordable paddling experience for children or staff outings. As we become more established our goal will be to assist in funding for the two highlighted agencies. If you would like more information about these agencies please email us or call the store.
