When October rolls around, point to any day on the calendar and there is a good chance you’ll find something special going on within the Pinelands. And when better to host a giant nature party then during October when fall foliage colors have the Pinelands at their most beautiful.
It might be a cranberry festival that celebrates the region’s agricultural heritage. It could be a trip deep into the woods in search of the dreaded Jersey Devil or a canoe trip through the wetlands led by an expert naturalist. Maybe it is a campaign to clean up an historic site within the Pinelands, a gardening workshop or a guided nature hike.
Within the Pinelands’ million-plus acres, there are dozens and dozens of organizations, historic sites, nature centers, wineries, and outdoor groups that have deep connections to the Pinelands which they are happy to share with you through their special events and programs. Because they know that the more you get to know what there is to do in the Pinelands, the more you’ll want to make sure it is safe and protected from development.
To find out what is happening when and where, you can get a complete schedule of activities from the Pinelands Preservation Alliance.
