A boardwalk has been built over the water at Webb's Mill cedar bog so that visitors can walk out into the bog and view many of the plant species unique to NJ's Pine Barrens. Species such as the carnivorous pitcher plant and sundew can be found here along with bog asphodol and curly-grass fern. A visit in the spring is particularly worthwhile since Pine Barrens wildflowers are in bloom at this time of the year.

To reach the bog from the Four Mile Circle, travel 12 miles on Route 72 to Route 539 and make a left. Go approximately 6 miles until you see a Greenwood Forest sign on your left. After parking look for a narrow path leading into the woods to the boardwalk.

Thanks to blogger Patrick Belardo, you can find a Google map he created with the entrance point.

COME PREPARED

Bring along a plant specific identification book to aid in the discovery of the flora surrounding the boardwalk.
