Scenic Routes
Bring your camera. South Jersey's scenic routes are . . . well, scenic. And you'll want to capture every last detail.

If you like to commune with nature from behind the windshield of your car, you’ll love South Jersey’s scenic routes. There are three different routes along the 130 mile Southern Pinelands Heritage Trail that wind through historic villages, abut coastal marshes and run along wild and scenic rivers. Just aim the car and go where the road takes you.

All you need to travel the birding and wildlife route in Salem County is a pair of binoculars and a tank of gas. The Audubon Society has mapped out several driving scenic trails that weave through the Delaware Bayshore’s coastal wetlands, meadows, and wildlife refuges.

Save the gas and hop on the RailLine, the light rail train that connects Camden with Trenton. Along the way, you’ll traverse centuries of history as you traverse colonial-era river towns that combine small town charm with picture-worthy architecture.
