It’s never too soon to turn kids into environmentalists and the Cover Campers Summer Camp is just the activity that can do it. Situated along the banks of the Delaware River, Palmyra Cove Nature Park offers kids a fun, hands-on summer program that will turn them into big fans of nature. For three hours every day, the kids will spend a week exploring the Cove’s wetlands (that means they’ll get to get wet), seining (that means they’ll learn to fish using mesh nets), hiking to Bullfrog Basin, Dragonfly Pond and the Delaware River. They'll learn geology and mapping (that means they’ll get to traipse through the woods and explore the trails), wildlife exploration and making nature-related crafts. They’ll also catch-and-release insects, get to learn about animal life cycles, log exploration, animal habitats and how to track the critters and join in a beach clean-up. Best of all, as they explore Palmyra Cove’s 250 acres of wetlands and natural resources, the kids can expect to get a little dirty, and what kid doesn’t love getting a little dirty.

Camp fees include a healthy snack each day and membership at Palmyra Cove Nature Park, allowing you  to enjoy many other programs and activities for all ages.

BRING THE FAMILY

Sorry mom and dad. This program is for the kids. But you are welcome to visit Palmyra Cove and enjoy the wildlife, trails, flora and fauna in this riverside natural area.

COME PREPARED

Kids will be outside for at least part of the day so be sure to slather them in sun screen and insect repellant before sending them on their way.  Make sure they have bottles of water.  Oh, and have lots of detergent on hand because they'll be digging in the dirt.

WHO KNEW

Songbirds love Palmyra Cove Nature Center because it has the only mature interior forest habitat along the Delaware River coastline from the Delaware Water Gap down to Cape May.
