Pitch your tent. Set up your trailer. Or move into a cabin. However you like to camp, you can camp in the wooded sites at Wading Pines Campground. The family-owned Pinelands campground has 300 RV sites (250 are double slide-out sites) where you can hook up to their electric, water and cable service and then relax and enjoy your getaway.

The focal point of Wading Pines is their private, stocked lake where you can rent canoes and kayaks (or bring your own). Spend an afternoon fishing or just paddle around and watch the birds and wildlife that hang out in the Pinelands. Meanwhile, back on land campers can dive into the large swimming pool, shoot hoops on the basketball court, go for the match point in sand volleyball, practice your tennis serve or toss horseshoes.

A well-equipped game room is a popular hangout for the kids and in the rec center, Wading Pines hosts kids crafts activities, adult ceramic classes and other games.
Throughout the season, themed weekends such as NASCAR, Halloween, Mother’s Day, add more options in the things-to-do department.

For rustic campers, there are numerous wilderness sites along the Wading River that come with electric and water hook-ups. And for just a few more creature comforts – but not too many, there are 16 cabins that sleep five people, have electric service and ceiling fans but no water.

For clean-up time, Wading Pines offers showers, laundry facilities and restrooms. If you forgot something you can’t live without, stop by the general store. And before you leave, you can use the dumping station and honey wagon.

BRING THE FAMILY

While the kids are enjoying the crafts activities, mom and dad can try their hand at the adult ceramics classes and everybody will get a kick out of the themed weekend programs.
