So you think you know South Jersey. Sure you know about the parks, farms, wineries, trails and other attractions in the region. But there is so much more to discover.

Sometimes you are just in the mood to do something a little different. That’s when you should head to South Jersey. Throughout the region you’ll find places to go and things to do that are just a little bit off the usual ‘to-do’ list.

On Saturday evenings between May and September, cowboys and cowboy wannabe’s flock to Cowtown Rodeo for the nation’s longest-running Saturday night rodeo. Sign up for a walking tour of historic Burlington city and you’ll be following in the footsteps of captains of industry, runaway slaves and the author of one of literature’s best-loved classics.

Treat kids to a day screaming their lungs out on the thrill rides at Clementon Amusement ark or cool off in the splashy wet waters at Sarah Sam’s water park. Climb to the top of a fire tower at Apple Pie Hill in the heart of the Pinelands and look out onto forever. Or climb aboard the Cape May Whale Watch and sail the ocean’s waters in search of whales and dolphins.

Sure it is different. Sure it is unusual. But hey, this is South Jersey. Nobody does different like we do.

Clementon Amusement Park & Splash World

Almost everything here at South Jersey’s oldest family amusement park is new. Laguna Kahuna, the most recent addition, adds 13,000 square feet of wet, splashy fun to Clementon’s Splash World water park. There are a few thrills here – with a 110 foot drop at 50 mph, the Hellcat roller coaster is good for some delighted screams of excitement. But there are also many gentle adventures in store for the very young set at the family-oriented amusement park.

Appel Farm Arts and Music Center

Appel Farm isn’t THAT kind of farm. Here they grow talent. Tucked away on 176 rural acres, the regional, multidisciplinary arts and music center conducts workshops for all ages. Family-friendly pricing makes their music and dance concerts and theater productions very popular. And the annual Arts & Music Festival has earned a reputation as one of the best on the east coast attracting some of the top names in music.

Russo's Orchard Lane Farm

Traveling through the New Jersey country side on a winding, tree-lined road, you will come to Russo's Orchard Lane Farm, which is a family owned and operated 250-acre fruit, vegetable, and greenhouse tomato farm. All of their farm produce is picked fresh daily and sold in their farm market. Russo’s also offers a fine selection of other fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, cider, fall decorations, Christmas trees, and so much more!

Sahara Sam's Oasis

No need to wait for a sunny or warm day to splash in the water. At Sahara Sam’s Oasis, you can enjoy water activities any day. During winter months, the indoor facility offers an off-beat way to play. Come summer, the retractable roof peels back and it is turns into a sun-filled water park with almost a dozen laugh-filled, splash-filled water rides and activities.

Salem County Arts in Bloom

Arts in Bloom features over 50 established and emerging artists representing a wide variety of work. Painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, collage, glass art, woodturning, metalsmithing are offered in stunning and intimate settings including gardens and greenhouses as well as studios and galleries.

Samuel Crowley III

As a retired sea captain, Samuel Crowley III, established the foundations for Crowleytown in Burlington County and precipitated the town's legacy of glassworks. Crowley began building the town in 1851 and by 1857 it had a glass house, 17 residences, a store and blacksmith shop, and school.

Samuel Gordon Giberson

Samuel Gordon Giberson, a memeber of the renowned Giberson family of Ocean County, was well known in the area for his talent on the fiddle. Playing for the Pinelands in the middle 1800s, Giberson was nicknamed by the community, "Fiddler Sammy Buck." He would play at social gatherings and in local taverns.

Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center

If you need proof that a picture is worth a thousand words, a visit to The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center should do the trick. Thousands of photos and artifacts recall the history of Seabrook Farms and tell the dramatic stories of the Japanese, Peruvian, Appalachian, European and Caribbean refugees and immigrants who lived and worked at Seabrook Farms during World War II.

Silver Decoy Winery

The folks at Silver Decoy Winery sure pack a lot of activity into their 15 acres. There the top-quality wines that earned the New Jersey “Winery of the Year” award. And the vineyard tours and free tastings. And the weddings, corporate events and wine-education programs. Not to mention their experimental work in testing methods to grow some of the world’s great grapes in South Jersey.

Symphony in C is a performance studio that maintains and supports a symphony orchestra that provides training for tomorrow’s orchestra musicians, music directors, soloists, and audiences by presenting well-rounded, artistically excellent educational programs, which contribute to enriching the cultural life of our global community

The Blueberry Factory

Distributor and Retailer of Quality Blueberry Products New Jersey is the "bithplace" of the cultivated blueberry. Hammonton, "The Blueberry Capital of the World," is nestled in the Pine Barrens located in South Jersey. South Jersey is a natural habitat for both blueberries and cranberries. The Blueberry Factory offers a wide selection of Jersey blueberry products. Highlights include jams, jellies, and syrups along with great gift baskets and souvenir clothing.

This 1904 Victorian, nestled amongst the shops and restaurants of downtown Medford, provides a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Tuckerton Seaport Museum

Cruise along the boardwalk that winds through Tuckerton Seaport 40 acres and you’ll not only travel into different centuries, you’ll discover the culture of the men and women whose lives are defined by the Barnegat Bay. Throughout the Seaport’s wetlands, maritime forest, and 17 original and re-created buildings, including boatbuilding centers, museum exhibits, and a real working wooden charter boat.

Washington Crossing State Park

It wasn’t exactly the surprise the Hessian troops would have wanted early on a Christmas morning but when General George Washington led his troops on a secret crossing of the Delaware River, he launched what would become the Ten Crucial Days in the fight for American independence. Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center

Back in the day – that would be 1789 –the nation’s first glassmaking factory opened in South Jersey launching an industry that would define the region for almost two centuries. That heritage is preserved at the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, a complex that combines a nationally-recognized glass museum, glass making studios, Down Jersey Folklife Center, tours, and educational activities. You can even try your hand at blowing your own glass artwork in their studio.

Whitesbog Historic Village

Standing in front of the turn-of-the-century general store, you can almost imagine Historic Whitesbog Village when it was a bustling company town and the center of New Jersey’s cranberry and blueberry industries. Surrounded by pine forests, cranberry bogs and trails winding throughout Whitesbog Village, many of Whitesbog’s historic buildings still stand.

Winding River Campground

Even in camping it all comes down to location, location, location. And you can’t get a location much better than Winding River Campground’s. Situated along the Great Egg Harbor River, the campground’s 105 trailer sites and 28 tent sites (as well as their 2 rental cabins) get the benefit of cool river breezes as well as lots of opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and tubing down this Wild and Scenic River.

Woodstown Fall Festival

Deciding to go to the Woodstown Fall Festival is easy. Deciding what to do once you get there is hard. You have to see the displays of scarecrows that practically double the population of the town. Then there is the chili contest, the 5K run, palate-pleasing wine tastings, dozens of crafters and oh yes, more. Much more.
