A. L. Gaventa & Son
Cedarvale Farm hasn’t been producing Jersey Fresh produce since 1905 for just any old reason.  Three generations of Gaventas have poured their hearts and souls into keeping this 200 acre fruit and vegetable farm cultivatable.  So if you visit, please do your part by respecting the grounds and not leaving any trash. Help Cedarvale remain open for another hundred years!
 
 
Abbots Meadow Wildlife Management Area
Whatever your bring you, you'll have to take out.  There is no scheduled trash pick-up, so please do your part to keep this area clean and free of litter. 
 
 
Adams Canoe Rental
Throwing food or trash into the river is just so uncool.  Bring trash bags with you so your sandwich wrappers, water bottles and other trash don't end up in the river.
 
 
Albert Music Hall
The idea is to treat Albert Music Hall as if it was your “Homeplace.” Help the Pinelands Cultural Society upkeep the Hall by properly disposing of any garbage and recyclables. And please do not bring alcohol or cigarettes. 

 
 
Alice Paul Institute
Paulsdale is a National Historic Landmark, so whether you tour on your own or with a group, please don't litter or snag "souvenirs."
 
 
Allen Family Farm
If you decide to walk the fields to pick-your-own, listen carefully to check-in personnel for instructions as to variety location and areas to pick. Please keep close watch over your children and pick up your trash so that the farm remains clean for others.
 
 
Alloway Creek Watershed Wetland Restoration Site
Please do not cut, remove or interfere with any of the plants, wildlife or other natural resources.  Whatever you bring in with you has to leave with you, so pack a bag for your trash.
 
 
Amico Island Park

 Park Rules

  1.  Please stay on the trails, hiking off the trails is not permitted.
  2.  Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
  3. Fires are not permitted.
  4.  Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
  5.  Please pick up your own trash and a little extra, if you can.
  6.  Do not feed or approach wildlife – Enjoy from a distance.
  7.  We recommend you wear insect repellent and light-colored clothes with your pant legs tucked into your socks or boots. Always check yourself for ticks after hiking.
  8. Please do not pick vegetation.
  9.  All-terrain bikes MUST use designated trails only and MUST give right-of-way to hikers. Follow trail markers.
  10.  No motorized dirt bikes or all-terrain vehicles allowed.
  11.  Boats are not permitted in the pond.
  12.  No swimming or ice skating.
  13.  No hunting, firearms or trapping.
  14.  Horses are not permitted.
 
 
Antique Glass & Bottle Show
Handle the antiques with care.  And if you decide to enjoy some of the food and snacks, be sure to use the trash cans to deposit your trash.
 
 
Appel Farm Arts and Music Center
Three words.  Recycle, recycle, recycle. Oh, and use the trash cans that are located throughout the festival site.
 
 
Apple Festival
Don't toss that food wrapper on the ground.  Use the trash receptacles and help keep the grounds clean.
 
 
Apple Pie Hill
If you bring it in with you, please take it with you when you leave.  And take only what you bring -- please don't snip samples of foliage or take home "souvenirs."  It could damage habitats for the critters who live there.
 
 
Atsion Lake Recreational Area
Atsion Lake Recreational Area sits in the middle of Wharton Forest which has a carry-in/carry-out program.  So take your trash with you and if you forget to bring trash bags with you, you can get them from the bag stations located throughout the park. 
 
 
Avalon Seawatch
If you bring anything to nibble on while you are out there watching the birds, take your trash with you to the nearest trash bin and don't toss it into the ocean.
 
 
B & B Farms
While walking through the blueberry bushes at B & B Farms remember to tread carefully and avoid dropping your own belongings as you snack on berries. Keep the farm as pristine as you found it so that the only thing left to pick up are more blueberries for the next visitor.

 
 
Baldpate Mountain
Help protect the trails and Mountain by remembering that while you are there, you are a visitor. This means don't trample over plants, cut down trees, or leave behind trash.  Do your best to ensure that everything remains the way that you found it.
 
 
Balic Winery
The grapes might look tempting, but the vines are delicate so don't touch the leaves or snap off a piece of the fruit.
 
 
Barclay Farmstead
You can help keep the Farmstead true to its authentic roots by keeping it trash-free. 
 
 
Bass River State Park
Whatever you bring in, take right back out with you when you leave.  The Park has a carry-in, carry-out program, which means you even have to take your trash with you when depart.
 
 
Batona Trail
Everything along the trail is Carry In-Carry Out.  In other words, whatever you brought you have to take home with you.  That includes your trash. The NJ Department of Forestry provides trash bags at various locations throughout the forest
 
 
Batsto Village
When you visit, keep in mind that there's no way that Batsto Village could have lasted for over 300 years if people didn't work together to keep it clean and litter-free.  So treat the place like it's your own and help ensure that garbage and recyclables find their appropriate bins.-{12324843005612}-

 
 
Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial
Listen to the “Big J’s” expertly-trained tour guides for a list of rules while on-board the ship.  You will see lots of cool stuff that makes the Battleship unique, such as weapons systems, berthing areas, command and control centers, and on-board museum exhibitions. Make sure that you pay attention so you know which displays are off limits and which ones are hands-on.
 
 
Bear Creek Preserve
This preserve is for foot access only so leave the bikes at home. Please stay on the trail and avoid treading on some of the unique trailside vegetation. Take your trash with you and, if you don't mind, someone else's if you come across it.
 
 
Bel Haven Paddlesports
Bring a bag for your trash so you keep the rivers clean.
 
 
Belleplain State Forest
Bags are provided throughout the park as part of their carry-in/carry-out program.  So if you brought it in with you, take it home with you.
 
 
Bellview Winery
Be careful when walking through the vineyards.  Don't want to tromp on any plants.  And of course, take care not to leave any trash behind.
 
 
Berlin Farmers' Market
A great way to be eco-friendly and reduce the amount of trash at farmers markets is to bring your own reusable shopping bag.

The open spaces surrounding the house are unspoiled and you won't see any trash cans there so keep your trash with you until you get to a place where you can ditch it responsibly.
 
 
Brendan T. Byrne State Forest
Whatever you bring into the Forest, you have to take out. Trash bags are provided at locations throughout the Forest so you can take it with you.  It is also a good idea to bring a few extras trash bags of your own.
 
 
Budd's K-n-P Farms & Country Kitchen
This is a working farm with real farm equipment.  It might look fun, but don't touch.  Leave it to the pros who know what they are doing.  And if you enjoy the picnic grounds, please use the trash and recycling bins available.
 
 
Burlington City Boat Ramp
Make sure to deposit all trash and waste oil appropriately. Do not dispose of refuse or waste oil deposits in the water.
 
 
Burlington County Historical Society Library and Museum Tours
Outside, be sure to use trash bins to deposit your trash. Inside the historic sites, don't touch any of the artifacts unless you get the OK.  You might not realize it, but there are oils in the skin that damage historic objects.
 
 
Burlington Riverfront Promenade Park
If you decide to have a picnic, do your best to leave the Park the way you found it.  Remember to take home anything that you brought. And never bury your trash. Animals will dig it up or it will become exposed later on for someone else to find.
 
 
Butterhof's Shady Brook Farm
Butterhof's recycles so you should too.  If you bring beverages in plastic or glass bottles, ask the owners to direct you to the nearest recycling bins.  And if you are picking your own produce, please put what you pick in your container and don't waste it.  
 
 
Buzby's Chatsworth General Store
Handle the merchandise carefully.  Local artisans and craftspeople count on the income they get from the sale of their artwork, carvings and other creations.

Many of the artifacts are within an arm's reach.  But don't touch.  They might look sturdy, but the items are fragile.  You would be too if you were centuries old!

Camden County takes pride in their parks. So when you visit, be sure to use the trash receptacles.  When hiking the nature trails, don't disturb any of the habitats or take home "souvenirs."  Those wildflowers you cut or the twigs you toss around support the wildlife.  And we wouldn't want the critters to be homeless.

During the spring and summer, the place is blooming with wildflowers.  But don't pick them. Leave nothing but your footprints and take nothing but your memories.

The Carranza Memorial stands alone in the woods and you might not see any waste cans nearby so you'll have to just hold onto your trash until you get to the nearst trash can.

Batsto Village has been able to surrive for hundreds of years because people have respected its history and importance to Pinelands culture.  So please clean up after yourself and help preserve this nationally recognized site.

Cowtown Rodeo
Whatever you do, don't interfere with the rodeo.  The event can be extremely dangerous, so if you bring the kids, make sure you know where they are at all times.

Shopping at a community farmers market is a great way to help the environment and local farmers. But if you really want to be eco-friendly, remember to bring your own bag for the fruits and veggies you purchase.
 
 
Crystal Lake Park
Some of the plant species in Crystal Lake Park are very rare for South Jersey so do not touch or disturb them.  It could damage or even destroy them.
 
 
Cumberland County Historical Society Museums
When you visit the historic homes and sites, please do not touch anything unless you get the OK.  You can't see them and might not feel them, but there are oils and moisture in hands and the skin that can damage antiques.
 
 
Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park
The park's Carry In/Carry Out Program helps to eliminate trash in the park by encouraging visitors to be good park stewards. Park visitors are asked to make use of the trash bags supplied at each site and then take them home for proper disposal. Campers should place all trash in appropriate trash and recycling containers.
 
 
Delaware River Heritage Trail
Located directly along the riverfront, amongst some of the region's greatest natural resources and cultural history, it's essential that you help preserve the Trail by disposing of your trash properly.

 
 
Delaware River Sojourn
This should be pretty obvious, especially since this year's event commemmorates the passage of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.  So keep it wild and scenic -- no tossing trash into the River.
 
 
Delaware River Tubing
If you eat or drink along the river, keep your trash with you until you get back to the check-in center and can throw it out.  Don't even think about throwing stuff in the river. 
 
 
Dennis Creek Wildlife Management Area
Whatever your bring you, you'll have to take out.  There is no scheduled trash pick-up, so please do your part to keep this area clean and free of litter.

 
 
DiMatteo Vineyards
It is OK to nibble on a couple of grapes, but please don't overdo it.  And use the trash cans and recycling bins that are at the winery.

Double Trouble State Park
Like all New Jersey State Park, Double Trouble has a carry-in/carry-out program.  If you forget to bring trash bags to take your trash home with you, you can always use the bags that are provided throughout the Park.  
 
 
Duffield Farm's Pick-Your-Own
Please make sure you only pick fruit and vegetables that you plan on buying. And help keep Duffield's around for generations to come by remembering to properly disposing your trash.
 
 
Eldora Nature Preserve
Please stick to the marked trails and take your trash out with you when you leave. And although some of the plants and critters seem interesting, don't touch or collect them.  This is fragile territory and you wouldn't want to disturb anything. 
 
 
Elmer Lake Wildlife Management Area
Stick to the trails -- wandering off could damage wildlife habitats or other rare plants that thrive in the area.
 
 
Elsinboro Neck
Remember to remove all of your belongings and trash from the beach, boardwalk, or trails before you leave Elsinboro Neck.
 
 
Emery's Organic Blueberry Farm
Tasting is okay, but please remember to leave enough berries for others to pick. If Emery’s farmers or staff feel that you are taking too much, they will ask you to leave. 

 
 
Estellville Glassworks
Vandalism and erosion precipitated concern that these ruins would soon be lost. Although efforts have been made to preserve the site, visitors should take care to help maintain the ruins and their surrounding park lands.
 
 
Evert Trail Preserve
This preserve is for foot access only. Please stay on the trail and avoid treading on some of the unique trailside vegetation. Take your trash with you and, if you don't mind, someone else's if you come across it.
 
 
 
Fall Forestry Festival
We would like to keep this area clean and pollution free so whatever you bring, please make sure to take it home with you.

Four Mile Springs Preserve
You can bring your bicycle, but leave the ATVs at home.  Whether you are biking or hiking, stick to the trails and don't disturb any of the vegetation. Most importantly, take your trash home with you.
 
 
Four Seasons Family Campground
Use the trash dumpsters and recycling bins which are located on the campgrounds.   If you aren't sure what gets recycled and what doesn't, check in with the office and they'll give you a list of what goes where.
 
 
Fourteeth Annual Pine Barrens Jamboree!
It's easy to get caught up in all the music and fun, but remember that the Pine Barrens Jamboree takes place in Wells Mills County Park and anything that you bring with you, must leave with you. Do your part to preserve the legacy of Piney music and culture by leaving-no-trace.

Whatever you carry in, be sure you carry it out with you.  If you see wildlife or a nest or a bit of foliage that captures your attention, please don't disturb it.  Leave everything as you found it.

Fruitwood Orchards Honey Farm
When a farmer opens his fields for pick-your-own, he stands to lose up to 1/3 of the crop which means he can lose a lot of income.  So be kind.  Don't eat what you aren't paying for, don't pick more than you will take home, and be very careful of the plants so you don't damage them. 
 
 
Garden State Discovery Museum
It is never too soon to teach kids that littering and leaving trash behind is a no-no. So be sure to clean up after yourself when playing, eating or enjoying the Museum's facilities.
 
 
Giant Pumpkin Carve
Pumpkin carving! Hayrides! Great food! The Giant Pumpkin Carve is definitely a great time. But after the event is over, Salem County Fairgrounds has one heck of a cleanup on their hands. Make things easier for them by properly disposing of all of your garbage.

Stick to designated trails and carry out whatever you bring in with you.  And don't take home "souvenirs" of plants or animals or anything else you see there.
 
 
Gloucester County 4-H Fair and NJ Peach Festival
The kids work really hard to care for their animals so please don't feed them when you are at the Fair.  And when you are walking around and eating your food, be sure to use the trash cans and recycling bins.
 
 
Gloucester County Parks System
There are trash receptacles located throughout each of the parks so please deposit your rubbish there and not on the grounds or in the waters.
 
 
Great Bay Boulevard
As you drive along the Great Bay Boulevard, you will pass through a bunch of historic and natural sites that you don’t want to damage with pollution. Please refrain from throwing trash out of your car windows and if you happen to stop to check out some of the cool sites, make sure that you leave them the way you found them.
 
 
Great Egg Harbor National Wild & Scenic & River
Look, play and enjoy the Great Egg Harbor River.  But don't throw trash in it, disturb the animals who live along its banks or snap up samples of the foliage you see along the way.
 
 
Greenwich Lake Park
The statewide minimum size on trout has been increased from 7 to 9 inches. The 9-inch size limit is designed to protect smaller, naturally reproduced trout from over-harvest. This new size limit is in effect statewide and also applies to designated wild trout streams and holdover trout lakes. So throw the little ones back in the water!

 
 
Grounds for Sculpture
Grounds For Sculpture offers guided tours for adults, schoolchildren, toddlers, as well as touch tours for the blind. And many of the sculptures on these tours are by well-renowned artists. Make sure that you listen to your tour guide so that you don’t touch art that isn’t supposed to be touched.
 
 
Haddonfield Crafts and Fine Arts Festival
If you’re shopping, remember to handle products with care.  Many of the artists have spent a great deal of time crafting their work and it would be a shame to break anything. It goes without saying that big events, like the Haddonfield Crafts and Fine Arts Festival, can also produce a lot of trash - so make sure that you do your part to limit the amount of cleanup needed when it’s over.
 
 
Haddonfield Fall Festival
Trash and recycling buckets are located around town, so if you stop for a snack or beverage, be sure to stash your trash in the appropriate containers.

Shopping at a community farmers market is a great way to help the environment and local farmers. But if you really want to be eco-friendly, remember to bring your own bag for the fruits and veggies you purchase.

Don't nibble on the fruits and veggies in the field. If you pick it, you have to pay for it.

It's very important that you don't leave any garbage or pick vegetation, as the Marsh's diversity of habitats supports a wide variety of plants and animals - many of which are endangered.

Please stay on the designated trails and take everything you bring into the Preserve with you when you leave.
 
 
Heritage Station Pick-Your-Own Farm
Only pick what you intend to purchase. And if you have any trash, please remember to take it home with you.  There is nothing worse than a trashy orchard.
 
 
Heritage Vineyards of Richwood
If you plan on taking a tour of the vineyard, be respectful of the plants and don’t touch anything without permission of the guide. You should also hold onto any refuse so that you can properly dispose it once the tour is over.

 
 
Herrontown Woods Arboretum
Don't disturb any habitats or nests. It is somebody's home. And of course, if you bring anything in with you, take it right back out when you leave. 
 
 
Historic Cold Spring Village
Even though Historic Cold Springs Village brings to life the 18th century, there are still plenty of garbage cans and bins for you to deposit your trash and recyclables.  After all, it wouldn’t look like the 18th century if there was litter all over the place.
 
 
Hopewell Valley Vineyards
If you enjoy a picnic or just sipping a bottle of wine on the deck, please use the trash bins and recycling buckets to dispose of your trash.
 
 
Howell Living History Farm
It’s not Living History for just any old reason. It’s taken a lot of work to preserve this old-time farm. So make an effort to keep this place looking in tip-top shape by making sure that you don’t touch anything that you’re not supposed to on the self-guided tours and all your trash finds the bottom of a bin.
 
 
Indian Acres Tree Farm
If you’re brave enough to venture out into the corn fields for a haunted hayride, keep your hands and feet inside the back of the wagon. And don’t even think of throwing anything out into the fields or at the costumed actors.
 
 
Ironwood Outdoor Center
If you use the trails, please don't disturb any of the foliage or wildlife you see along the paths. And they have a pack it in, pack it out policy so whatever you bring in with you has to leave with you.
 
 
Italian American Festival
Yes, it's a festival and lots of food and trash gets tossed aside.  But please help keep the park clean and use the receptacles.
 
 
James G. Atkinson Memorial Park
When using the picnic facilities, be sure to clean up all of your trash and deposit it in the trash cans. And lovely as the plantings and trees are,  please don't take cuttings.  They need all the leaves they have.
 
 
Jay Pratt Azalea Gardens
Follow the signs that lead the way to the gardens, but please stay away from the house. It is a private residence.
 
 
Jersey Devil Hunts
The mission of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance is to protect and preserve the resources of the New Jersey Pinelands.  Now, where does littering tie into that mission. It doesn't! So if you bring hot dogs and marshmallows for the campfire, be sure to take home the plastic they are wrapped in. 
 
 
John A. Roebling Park
Use the appropriate trash bins for your rubbish.  And leave things the way you found them - meaning, don't snap up any plants or disturb any animal habitats.
 
 
Johnson's Corner Farm
Help save the family farm by keeping it clean.  Trash in the fields can damage the plants so keep your litter in bags.  And although it is fine to pick the fruits and veggies, don't walk on them.
 
 
Jonas Cattell Run/18th Century Field Day
If you attend the 18th Century Field Day, have fun watching the reenactment, but please don’t interfere or try to participate. And if you bring any food or drink, please make sure that you remember to dispose of it properly. 

 
 
Kirby's Mill
A great amount of time and money has gone into restoring historic Kirby's Mill.  It would be a shame to blemish the hard work of so many people by leaving trash.  Please make sure you throw out your garbage.
 
 
Lake Absegami
You can bring Fido to the beach area, but also remember to bring plastic bags to clean up after him. In fact, you'll need plastic bags for all your trash because the Lake, which is in Bass River State Forest, has a "you bring it in, you take it out" policy.
 
 
Lake Kandle Campground and Swim Club
Leave all the foliage as you see it -- no trimming or cutting bushes, trees or plants.  And make sure you recycle all your trash when you bring it to the dumpsters.
 
 
Lake Lenape Park
Leave the picnic tables where they are -- moving them around is prohibited.  Put your rubbish in the trash receptacles. And disturbing or removing any of the plants or wildlife here is also not allowed.
 
 
Lee Turkey Farm
Even turkeys like things neat and clean.  So please don't litter and use trash cans.
 
 
Lewis W. Barton Arboretum and Nature Center
One of the goals of the folks at Lewis W. Barton Arboretum and Nature Center is the development of collections that reflect both the beauty and diversity of the plant world.  And they’ve done a pretty good job – just look at their variety of crab-apples, rhododendron, viburnum, conifers, and hardy, disease-resistant trees and shrubs. Along the Trail, public access points are clearly signed. Please stay on the trail and respect private property.  For the beauty and health of the creek, please pick up your own trash and a little extra, if you can! Carry trash out and place in trash receptacles. Do not pick the vegetation or feed wildlife.  And leave the beer in the fridge – alcohol is not permitted on Parks System property.
 
 
Memorial Lake
Please consult the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection website for seasons, size and creel limits and for details on obtaining a fishing license at www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/fishneed.htm.  And please refrain from disturbing or stressing birds, especially breeding birds, which can be very susceptible to stress. They may abandon a nest of eggs or chicks if they are unduly disturbed. Similarly, don't harass them with excessive use of bird calls, and don't disturb a nest or handle eggs or chicks that you come across.
 
 
Mercer County Park
After your picnic, please use the recycling and trash bins for your trash.  Oh, and when you bring Fido, also bring plastic bags to clean up after him.
 
 
Mercer County Waterfront Park
It is a ball park so a few peanut shells aren't a problem.  But when it comes to bottles and food containers, that's a different story. Look for and use the recycling bins that are placed throughout the ballpark.
 
 
Mick's Canoe Rental
Anything you bring in, be sure to bring out with you again.  If you paddle to a campsite, use the appropriate receptacles and recycling bins.  Or  you can return your trash to the Mick's Canoe Rental drivers who pick you up at the end of your trip.

Observe the wildlife from a distance; never feed them human food or leave food scraps behind. Animals that become reliant on human handouts lose the ability to find food on their own and can easily become malnourished. Many animals become used to human trail activity. Traveling off-trail may cause added stress to animals and damage habitat. Keep wildlife wild by staying on trails and not approaching, harassing, or feeding them.

Abide by all the rules and regs for hunting, hiking and fishing.  If you bring something in with you, it is a good idea to have some trash bags with you so you can bring it out, too.

Historic buildings and artifacts are very sensitive so avoid touching them with your bare hands.  Even the tiniest bits of oils from the skin can contribute to deterioration.  When you explore the trails, whether land or water, hold on to your trash and don't dump it until you get to a trash can.  And if you walking, please stick to established trails-- going your own way could damage rare and delicate plants or wildlife.

Follow the NJCF's example and wherever you go, protect your surroundings.  Use recycling and trash buckets and if there aren't any around, take your trash with you until you can deposit it appropriately.  When  you see interesting wildlife or habitats, take a picture, not a souvenir.
